CornerStone Title Seminar in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, Draws Audience of 130

LAKEWOOD RANCH, FLORIDA – CornerStone Title recently presented “Contracts Explained: Why You Can’t Write a Deal on a Cocktail Napkin,” drawing an audience of 130 local real estate professionals to the Polo Grill in Lakewood Ranch.

Real estate law expert Barbara Burke brought humor to a serious topic, entertaining and engaging participants while discussing the definition of a contract, requirements for a valid contract, and issues that arise if a contract is breached. The differences between the FAR, FAR/BAR and FR/BAR contract forms were explained, as well as the potential liabilities to real estate professionals with respect to the creation, amendment and interpretation of these contracts. Typical contract disputes and their outcomes were reviewed, using actual cases.

The seminar was the fourth in the 2011 CornerStones of Success educational series hosted by CornerStone Title for real estate professionals. It was approved by the Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC) for three hours of Continuing Education (CE) Credit.
