Free Food at British Open Pub if Prince Harry Visits
Scottsdale, AZ, October 11, 2011 -- Patrons at British Open Pub will eat for free if Prince Harry visits the Scottsdale pub during his Arizona visit.Prince Harry, youngest son of Prince Charles and the late Princess of Wales, is traveling to Arizona this October to participate in military helicopter training near Gila Bend.
Prince Harry, who will officially be called Capt. Harry Wales during the training, landed Thursday afternoon at the Naval Air Facility El Centro in California, according to published reports. His training in Arizona is part of a 16-month Apache helicopter training program.
"Sure, Prince Harry can visit all the pubs he wants when he's in England but when will he get another chance to visit one in the Arizona desert?" said Gregg Troilo owner of the British Open Pub, recently selected as one of the five best pubs in the state by Phoenix New Times magazine.
"And when you think about it, it's probably pretty hard for Prince Harry to visit his favorite pubs in England without the prying eyes of the paparazzi. We can help him keep a low profile."
If Prince Harry visits the pub, Trolio said the food will be on the house - not just for Prince Harry - but for all customers present during his visit.
"Why not?" Troilo said. "We'll give him the royal welcome and the rest of our customers the royal treatment."
