11th Annual Boston International Fine Art Show - November 15-18,

The Eleventh Annual Boston International Fine Art Show (BIFAS), New England’s premier showcase for traditional and contemporary fine art, has announced its dates for 2007. The show, which has become a fixture on the Boston art and social scene, will take place Thursday through Sunday November 15-18, 2007 at The Cyclorama at The Boston Center for The Arts (BCA), 539 Tremont Street, in Boston’s South End.

Co-producers Tony Fusco and Robert Four are also pleased to announce that the Gala Preview on Thursday Evening, November 15 will benefit the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Inc. which operates three of the most beloved musical institutions in the world: the Boston Symphony, Boston Pops, and Tanglewood.

"We are looking forward to our best Gala Preview ever," comments Fusco. "The participation of the Boston Symphony Orchestra is a wonderful way to start our second decade. Last year we saw increased attendance, strong buying, and a stunning array of original works ranging from just a few hundred dollars to over a million."

Some of the prestigious galleries returning to the show this year are Spanierman Gallery, Cooley Gallery, Martha Richardson Fine Art, Avery Galleries, Questroyal Fine Art, Tom Veilleux Gallery, Blue Heron Fine Art, Stephen M. Foster Fine Arts, and Heinley Fine Arts, which specializes in French Barbizon painters. Also returning to the show are Gladwell & Company of London, and Peter Buckland Gallery of New Brunswick, Canada. Outstanding modern to contemporary exhibitors returning this year include Arcadia Gallery, Vose Contemporary, Jane Haslem Gallery, Addison Art Gallery, and Principle Gallery of Virginia.

The only show of its kind in New England, BIFAS features 40 galleries from the United States, Europe and Canada. With no restrictions on the type of work which may be shown, the show features 17th to 21st century paintings, works on paper, sculpture, fine prints, photography, contemporary studio furniture and more. BIFAS brings together some of the country's leading specialists in 19th and early 20th century American and European paintings, complemented by a strong cross-section of strong contemporary galleries, and specialists in areas such as prints, sculpture, the art of Japan, Africa, and other areas.

In addition to the Gala Preview, other special events take place throughout the weekend. On Friday evening, a "New Collectors Night" offers panels and programs designed to introduce different aspects of collecting, with special guest speakers. Other workshops and talks are presented on Saturday and Sunday, free of charge with admission. Weekend show hours are Friday, Nov. 16, 1:00pm – 9:00pm; Saturday, Nov. 17, 11:00am – 8:00pm; and Sunday, Nov. 18, 11:00am – 5:00pm. Weekend admission is $12, with children under 12 free.

The Cyclorama provides a unique venue for the show. With its large circular rotunda and additional salons it encourages people to both linger and wander. The historic structure is in the heart of the BCA complex that now boasts four theatres, a gallery, the Boston Ballet school, 50 artist studio spaces and other arts facilities. There are more than a dozen "hot" restaurants within a five-minute walk, making it a focal point for cultural life in the city, and a new jazz cafe, "The Beehive" will open in the basement of the Cyclorama this spring.

Exhibitor applications for the 2007 show are currently being accepted. For information, contact Tony Fusco at Fusco & Four at 617-363-0405, or visit www.FineArtBoston.com
