First "Dictionary of Men" Defines and Categorizes Male Species

Press release from: MASH Media LLC

September 28, 2011 (Boston, MA) - Finally, the world makes sense. The first “Dictionary of Men” is out and its defining the male species based on hometown, alma mater, profession, car, shoes, hygiene, social skills, favorite food, cocktail of choice, among other intimate characteristics. MASH Media LLC announces its full-color, hardcover release of “Dictionary of Men.”

Holding no punches, the “Dictionary of Men” pinpoints 365 different male types, one for every day of the year. Short, witty definitions capture hundreds of the men in the book’s part one: The A-Z Dictionary. The book’s part two, True Romantic and Unfortunate Encounters (TRUE), contains illustrated, real-life dating vignettes that define specific males. The content comes from stories told by a wide-variety of women from various socio-economic backgrounds, races and ages. Vignettes include: “Dave the Douchebag,” “High-Maintenance Hayden,” “Marco the Mama’s Boy," and dozens of others.

“I just wish we had access to this small, but thick book of wisdom earlier on in my dating and professional life,” says Maria Blanco, co-author of “Dictionary of Men.” “All women have acute intuition, but they just don’t use it. Seeing other women’s trials and tribulations in print is the cheapest and most valuable therapy session.”

The appeal is not just to women. “Men who were privy to a private viewing of the book, can’t put it down,” adds co-author Jane Black. “For men it’s like picking up a personalized version of GQ, Maxim or Playboy where all their buddies and bunnies can be found.”

The small, compact size of “Dictionary of Men” makes for the perfect on-the-go read and handy reference book to cope through daily life. “Dictionary of Men” can be purchased directly online at http://www.dictionaryofmen.com.

Maria Blanco – a Bostonian, purse dog owner, self-manicurer, retired TV reporter, straight shooter, boy shorts wearer, youngest child – graduated from Smith College, studied at Oxford University and earned her master’s from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, where she met her co-author.
