SHERWOOD, OR: The 3rd annual Santa's Christmas Cottage held annually by Gardner Team Real Estate took place on December 15th, 2019 at their real estate office located in white Victorian on 1st Street in Old Town Sherwood, also home for many years to the Lavender Tea House. Each year the Gardner Team has chosen a local non-profit as a recipient to benefit from needed fundraising. The first year Sherwood High School Grad Night was selected, then season two helped the Sherwood Police Foundation and season three went to Sherwood High School Bowmen Baseball to accommodate a number of needs. Just a couple of those examples mentioned by Coach Hickok were replacing worn equipment and enriching individual player development through incorporating new technology. Sherwood Bowmen Baseball being named as the 2019 recipient of Santa's Christmas Cottage was a nice boost to add to other fundraising efforts the baseball organization relies upon annually.

It's important to The Gardner Team that community day Santa's Christmas Cottage gives in two areas; they want to make it FREE and fun for the community while at the same time offering a fundraising twist to benefit a worthy organization. The cost of the entire event is covered by Gardner Team Real Estate and admission to the public is free! Admission comes complete with a magical setting that begins transformation 30 days before Santa and his friends arrive. On community day you'll see the Elves Portal and live feed updates from the North Pole so bring your cameras! Everyone gets a visit and professional pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus in their living room studio and all kids get a wish ticket to receive a special stocking stuffer gift from the Elves in the toy shop. It's truly an adventure with month long activities from StoryTime with Frosty and Friends, a coloring contest and posts from Santa and his helpers on the Facebook event page.

Fundraising comes in by way of community partners who participate as event sponsors with 100% of their sponsorship going straight to the recipient. Onsite you'll also be able to by drawing tickets to enter-to-win cool donated prizes including Christmas Cash donated by Directors Mortgage. Tasty concessions ran by Sherwood Allstate with items available for sale by donation if you choose and announced on Facebook there's a secret surprise local families can pre-order to their door around Christmas Eve. In total $7,350 was raised through Gardner Team Real Estate's Christmas Cottage for Bowmen Baseball thanks to the amazing efforts of community partners and volunteers!

Nominations are being accepted for the 2020 recipient if you know of a local non-profit origination in the community who would benefit from fundraising assistance. The recipient will be announced in November, along with the date and time for community day at Santa's Christmas Cottage and a schedule of fun and festivities you won't want to miss! If you would like to participate or be an event sponsor for the 4th annual event, please email or call/text Amber Gardner at 971-832-1235.
