WALTHAM, Mass., Sept. 22, 2011 – Walden Behavioral Care, LLC, one of the country’s leading hospitals for treating eating disorders, announced today that Emily J. Slager, LMHC of Natick has been promoted to the position of Director, Residential Program.

In her new position, she will supervise all programs and care at Walden Place, Walden’s residential care facility.

Slager previously served as Assistant Program Director at Walden Place, which provides residential care for patients with eating disorders. Before that, she was a social worker for Walden’s patients with eating disorders and psychiatric disorders. Before joining Walden, she was a mental health counseling intern at Pine Manor College in Chestnut Hill and a co-leader of a care group at the Multi-Service Eating Disorder Association (MEDA).

She also has served as a sales manager at Healthworks Fitness Center for Women in Chestnut Hill and as an account executive at Octagon Marketing and Athlete Representation in Stamford, Conn. She earned a master’s degree in counseling from Boston College, receiving the Dean’s Award, and a bachelor’s degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She is a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC).
