Press release from: Olympic Lawn & Landscape

Fall in Kansas City brings more than disappointing Chiefs games, yet delicious pumpkin spice lattes. Fall is also a great time to perform yard work that will have long-lasting effects all the way into spring. Lee’s Summit, MO landscaper Tim Brown at Olympic Lawn & Landscape has several tips for homeowners and property managers preparing their lawns for fall.

“Fall is the time to make sure you care for your lawns so that they survive through winter and grow to be full, healthy yards in spring,” said Tim Brown, owner of Olympic Lawn & Landscape at http://www.olympiclawn.net, located in Kansas City, MO.

Five Tips for Fall Lawn Care

Olympic Lawn advises homeowners to take the following steps each fall to prepare the lawn for winter:

1. Apply lawn applications. Weed killers, winterization applications and grub control are recommended.
2. Remove thatch. Rake the lawn, removing dead grass and debris.
3. Aerate the lawn. Aeration allows for extra oxygen to penetrate the soil, creating stronger roots.
4. Rake the leaves. This will help preserve well-fertilized, healthy lawns.
5. Re-seed dead areas, or over seed the lawn.

“Fall is the optimal time to apply grass seed,” said Brown. “The cooler weather allows for seeds to germinate and sprout in early spring.”
