Public is Invited to be a Part of “I’m Just Wild About Harry!” on November 10 at Riderwood in Silver Spring, MD
SILVER SPRING, MD (September 14, 2011) – Riderwood retirement community, in partnership with the Beltsville Library, will offer an “I’m Just Wild About Harry!” event on Thursday, November 10, from 10 a.m. – noon, in the Montgomery Station Classroom. And the general public is invited to be a part of it.A discussion of David McCullough’s Pulitzer Prize-winning book “Truman” will be held. The public is invited to discuss this book along with Riderwood residents and/or share their stories about having lived during the Truman years, or about having served in the military during Truman’s Presidency.
The public is also invited to bring their memorabilia, letters and artifacts from this important era in American history for display. Riderwood is located at 3140 Gracefield Road in Silver Spring, MD.
“We hope this event brings back memories for everyone,” said Barbara Spears, the Branch Manager of Beltsville Library. “The Truman years are is as important today as they were 65 years ago.”
The event will also have some humorous moments. There will be Harry Truman Look-a-Like and Trivia Contests with winners receiving Gift Certificates to a local restaurant. Refreshments will be served throughout.
