Acne treatments varies by individual - Skin Sense Wellness

Along with treatments at the clinic, Ms. Simms recommends a daily skin care regimen done at home. This includes a regular cleaning with soaps designed for acne-affected skin.

“A common misconception is acne is only present in people with oily skin,” she said. “That’s just not the case. Dry skin can also have acne. Because of the difference in skin types, the cleaners used at home need to be tailored to the skin of the person. Dry and oily skin need a different cleanser.”

“If you have acne, skin clinics should be your first line of treatment. If the problem is beyond the clinic’s ability, then certainly consult a dermatologist.
