More recently, on August 24, 2011, the FDA approved Botox ® for the treatment of adult urinary incontinence, or to treat overactive bladder control, in patients with neurological problems. The FDA has said "Botox ® can be injected into the bladder to treat those who lose bladder control because of damage to the nervous system, through conditions such as multiple sclerosis or spinal cord injury." "Allergan will try to gain approval to market Botox ® to a broader population of patients with overactive bladder," Allergan's CEO David Pyott reported earlier this month.

Allergan announced 2Q net income increases of 3%, primarily due to "worldwide revenue from the wrinkle treatment Botox ® [climbing] 16% to $418 million."
