How to move on in companies? What are Bert van Meurs' (Executive Committee member at Royal Philips) ultimate company survival tips? What does Joachim Drees (CEO of MAN Trucks & Bus) expect from his most ambitious employees?

The website SurvivingInCompanies.com provides these answers, and more, as of January 20th, 2020. The driving forces are Dr Carl Machado (Stuttgart, Germany) and Dr Marcel Dirkes (The Hague, Netherlands), who have spent several years working on career development-related topics such as "smarter working" in successful companies. They have more than twenty years of experience in multinational enterprises.

How is SurvivingInCompanies.com different from other Career-blogs and Podcasts?

SurvivingInCompanies.com is the first international Blog-Podcast combination to focus on the often-hidden cultural rules and norms of multinational firms. Our “Secret sauce” is understanding of the subtle and nuanced internal dynamics of business, as needed to successfully climb the ranks.

“The idea for SurvivingInCompanies.com was born when Marcel and I talked about our careers and experiences. We realised that many unwritten laws and rules exist that need to be respected – what works in one company can fail in the other. We wanted to share this implicit knowledge with others, so we came up with the name of "SurvivingInCompanies.com". Furthermore, we are convinced that the experiences of Leaders and Executives are valuable and exciting, and definitely worth being shared," said Dr Carl Machado, Co-Founder of the site.

Who are the guests? What are the goals?
The practical tips and tricks are shared in an entertaining and easy-to-listen Podcast which will be combined with blog posts. For the Podcast, the extensive Executive network of the founders was activated. Guests are invited to have an informal, personal talk about their experiences. As the website has global reach, most of the content is in English; Some others are in German. All Podcast episodes are accessible via Spotify, Apple Music and other major platforms.

The first episodes to be launched on January 20th, 2020 are:

• Mr Joachim Drees (CEO of MAN Trucks & Bus SE)
• Mrs Eva Braun (former CEO Philips HealthSystems DACH)
• Mr Christian Gansch (Grammy-winning Conductor, Best-selling Book Author, Management Consultant)

In a bi-monthly cycle, the following guests (and many more) will be featured:
• Dr Gottfried Dutiné (former CEO at Alcatel-Lucent)
• Mr Bert van Meurs (Executive Committee Member at Royal Philips)
• Dr Jürgen Weber (Partner, MHP Management- und IT-Beratung GmbH)
