A new water reservoir is operating in Mozambique thanks to the Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park

Press release from: Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park

The employees of the Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park are renovating a worn out drinking water reservoir as part of the Community Development Program in Mozambique. Many Africans have a difficult time getting to drinking water, in some cases they cannot get to it at all. This is why they are often forced to drink polluted and unsanitary water and that often leads to serious illnesses. Unsanitary water is dangerous especially for African children who frequently die at an early age as a result of diarrhea.

Life in Africa is difficult – people here rarely live to an advanced old age, as we say it in the so called western countries, and this occurs due to high temperatures, lack of drinking water and food. The Helping Africa charity drive, which the Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park is a patron of, tries to help the local people of this area improve their living conditions. Besides the renovation of the water source, there were also several drives organized already that collected material donations to help the African people and also a construction of a new school right inside the Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park, in Mauve, is reaching its final stages at this time

About Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park

Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park spans across Mozambique and is one of the largest private African parks. It neighbors and fluently ties into the Gonarezhou National Park in Zimbabwe. The primary objective for the Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park is to protect the natural wealth preserved in the area that is practically untouched by humans. Another integral activity of this park is a sensitive, sustainable and long term development of local communities.

Park activities focus on the construction of schools, hospitals, healthcare facilities, water reservoirs or the development of local infrastructure. All these steps are taken with utmost consideration for the environment while respecting the pristine state and beauty of this area.

Currently Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park is looking for other companies, which would get involved in the Community Development Program and help with financing of other planned projects.

Clay school at the Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park is a thing of the past
Literacy in Africa is distinctly lower than in Europe. Some African children often have to travel many kilometers every day, and those are the lucky ones. Some children actually don’t even have the opportunity to attend a school. This is especially due to small capacities of schools and also because the closest school is often just too far. The children will no longer have to crouch in a small
