eps and U2 – it´s done

360 degrees. 110 concerts. 75 venues. 30 countries. 5 continents.
The containers have been loaded for the last time

From June 30th, 2009 to July 30th, 2011. 760 days from the first to the last show. According to the organizers, over 7,265,000 tickets were sold, from Barcelona in Spain to Moncton in Canada.

No matter which facts or figures you take, all of them are superlatives. With their massive 360° stage construction and new attendance records, U2 is credited with having written musical history - the biggest and most successful tour of all time.

The team at eps, infrastructure service provider, was able to notch up its own record: a total of 145,000 working hours of assembly and dismantling operations during the tour as a whole.

Now, after more than two years, U2‘s 360° world tour has come to an end. What remains are unforgettable impressions for fans, the band, and the crew, innumerable photos on the World Wide Web, and a considerable amount of equipment needing to be brought home.

eps loaded its maritime containers and sent equipment back to the warehouses. In addition to the stage, sound, and lighting equipment, the tour required 59 truckloads of eps’ ground protection systems with compatible ramps. Heavy-duty Arena Panel served as support for the 600-ton stage. Terraplas, a lighter turf protection system, was used in the spectator area. For the concluding legs of the tour through South and North America, eps provided 60 refrigerators and fire extinguishers, 21 production vehicles like golf carts and Gator utility vehicles, and numerous Yellow Jacket cable protectors.
