Europe's number one hydropower meeting: F.EE at the RENEXPO INTERHYDRO in Salzburg
With 125 exhibitors, 300 congress participants and over 2,500 international visitors, RENEXPO INTERHYDRO is the most important hydropower trade fair in Europe. It takes place annually in November in Salzburg. For the F.EE hydropower division, this industry meeting once again offered the opportunity to participate as an exhibitor and thus to help shape the topic of hydropower as a storable and flexibly usable energy in times of growing proportions of fluctuating, renewable energies for the future. So while the future of European hydropower was being discussed at the congress, interested visitors to the F.EE stand were able to find out about the entire range of services offered by F.EE hydropower technology, which extends from control and energy technology, visualisation through to new construction and modernisation of hydropower plants as general contractor with all types of turbines and generators.
A special topic received particularly great interest: In a pilot project initiated a few months ago by F.EE together with the engineering office Pfeffer, AMServ GmbH u. Co. KG, the Bavarian State Power Plants and the Technical University Amberg-Weiden, the principle of the double-regulated, variable-speed Francis turbine was presented for the first time. Speed optimization using a frequency converter leads to a considerable increase in efficiency as well as an increase in annual working hours, without any structural alterations during conversion. In addition, the efficiency in the partial load range is significantly improved.
Thanks to innovation examples such as these and the competence and reliability of the F.EE hydropower experts known in the industry, the trade fair appearance was a success with numerous interested visitors and many new contacts.
