Africa Startup Initiative Program is hosting a panel discussion

November, 2019 – Africa Startup Initiative will host a panel discussion on Tuesday, 12 November, at 3:00 pm. In the panel discussion, some of the most influential voices will share their perspectives on current and future trends of African start-ups in the Fintech space and some inspiring entrepreneurs will present their innovative startups. This year, Telecel Group is a sponsor partner of AfricaCom, the Largest African Telco, Media, and Technology Event. Taking place in Cape Town, South Africa on 12-14 November 2019, AfricaCom accelerates enterprise digital transformation to elevate African economies.

The panel will be moderated by Heide Patmore featuring Jenny Ward (CEO of Neighbiz), Waheed Adam (Founder of Prime Group), Phathizwe Malinga (Managing Director at SqwidNet), Jignesh Dave (CEO of Next Cellular), and Irfan Pardesi (Founder of ACM Gold). The panelists will discuss African startups in the Fintech space, industry trends, 4th industrial revolution and how it would affect local African countries. Three startups have also been selected to present their startups: Carry 1st, Talk 360, and Omnipresent. They will share their stories, and discuss their innovative ideas and the problems they are solving in Africa. This will expose them a diverse audience of international organizations representatives, industry professionals, experts, and investors.

Africa Startup Initiative Program is part of Telecel Group’s CSR activities. It aims to contribute in a meaningful way to Africa by supporting young individuals who strive to better their lives and the lives of their communities. The Africa Startup Initiative program discovers Africa’s most talented entrepreneurs operating in the fields of telecom and technology, and helps them create successful companies at scale. ASIP supports the startups via their Accelerator and Investment Programs, by providing the startups with coaching and mentoring, workshops, and access to markets, investors, funding, angel investments and venture capital.
