Lookout Farm: Peach Crop "Looks Great" for 2011 U-Pick Season
South Natick, MA (August 2nd, 2011) – While some people may have been looking for a break from the heat lately, Belkin Family Lookout Farm in South Natick has embraced it. The hot sunny days, coupled with the farm’s innovative “drip irrigation” watering system, has helped produce a great crop of juicy peaches and “Pristine” apples that will be ready for picking this weekend, August 6th.“We’re looking forward to this U-Pick season. The spring rain and cool temps created the ideal growing conditions for our fruit trees, and the crop looks great,” said John Burns, Farm Manager at Lookout Farm.
Lookout Farm offers a huge children’s play area that includes a burlap maze, playground, picnic tables, hay pyramid, farm animals to see and caterpillar rides. On Saturdays and Sundays, there is live children’s entertainment and face painting.
The farms u-pick season for peaches generally lasts through August and into September. Beginning August 6th, the farm is open seven days a week from 10AM until 5PM.
