Here are five lessons every woman needs to know to understand football…

#1 The team with the football is the offense. The team without the football is the defense.

#2 The offense wants to score. The defense wants to keep the offense from scoring.

#3 The offense can score two ways, touchdowns and field goals.

#4 Touchdowns are scored by crossing the goal line and field goals by kicking the ball through the goal posts at each end of the field.

#5 Referees are there to make sure players abide by the rules.

For more football facts, enroll in the Academy today. For registration information, please contact Paula Davila with SDSU Athletics at 619-594-7197 or pdavila@mail.sdsu.edu.

More than 15,000 participants are expected to take part in the Komen San Diego 15th Annual Race for the Cure. Breast Cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer among women and will affect nearly 50,000 men and women in San Diego this year. It's the leading cause of death among women ages 40-59. Breast cancer strikes women during their most productive years - both personally and professionally. Everyone is affected by breast cancer - it's a family disease. We don't know what causes it, and we don't have a cure.
