NetCom Learning announces its June winner of the Sarder Scholarship for IT professionals

NetCom Learning, the premier provider of IT and business training solutions, recently announced the winners of the June monthly Sarder Scholarship. Named after NetCom Learning founder Russell Sarder, the scholarship was created to give back to the community and to forward Sarder’s mission to foster an environment of lifelong learning. The scholarship goes to a different student each month. Each scholarship winner may have a different background, but each student has one thing in common: a desire to learn.

Jaime Smith was the winner for May and Thomas Cheng was the winner in June. Smith plans to achieve an MCITP in Windows 2008 Server Enterprise Administrator and learn IOS programming with basic Cisco networking. Cheng hopes the scholarship will help him to achieve his goals of becoming an expert in virtualization, cloud computing and mobile technology.

Sarder said the scholarship is just one of the many ways he hopes to create a learning movement and inspire people to seek out knowledge.

“It’s inspiring to hear the stories of the various applicants, how they’ve come to this point and how they plan on using the scholarship to improve their skill set. What’s even more inspiring, however, is that this scholarship is doing what it was meant to; helping to foster a love of learning,” Sarder said.
