Celebrations Galore – Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrations at JMA Pilani Rajasthan
The school has established a rich tradition of not only celebrating various days of national and international importance but also different festivals. It goes without saying that when a school celebrates different festivals spread over the year, the rich ethnic diversity of India truly comes alive. During such celebrations, the students and teachers of the school add a spectrum of colours and gaiety and indeed rise not only above caste and creed but also develop mutual respect for all religions.Smt. Jamuna Mishra Academy (JMA) established in the year 2004 is presently one of the most sought after schools at Pilani considered as Oasis in the desert state of Rajasthan well known in India today for CSIR Laboratory CEERI, L.N. Birla Naturopathy & Yoga Kendra and Birla Science Centre. With excellent results year after year in Board of Secondary Education Rajasthan RBSE Class X and Class 12, it is a matter of great pride that JMA Pilani is referred popularly as The School with 100% Results. Alumni of JMA Pilani are pursuing higher education in various institutions which include Birla Institute of Technology and Science BITS Pilani which is one of the Institutions of Eminence and Banasthali Vidyapith which is in various Quacquarelli Symonds QS Rankings.
For this Spectacular festival which marks the birth of Lord Ganesha popularly worshiped for his ability to remove obstacles and bring good fortune, the entire country gears up to welcome its beloved elephant-headed deity and JMA Pilani truly had an unforgettable celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi on 02 Sep 2019. Keeping in mind the environmental conservation in mind, JMA Pilani encouraged students to make eco friendly Ganeshas and bring to the school for display.
The primary section students made dozens of eco friendly Ganeshjis with leaf from peepal tree which is said to be worshipped since the dawn of civilization and has great medicinal value apart from religious significance. After heralding the celebrations in the old building, the new building reverberated with Ganpati Bappa Morya. With a whole array of Ganesh idols made from a variety of eco friendly material, the new building looked as if it was holding an exhibition on Ganesh idols. Principal Mrs Booma Natarajan performed the puja and triggered the celebrations.
With the school choir singing several bhajans devoted to Lord Ganesh and several Ganesh related stories being told, the celebrations were truly at their devotional best and concluded with arti followed by Prasad distribution. When the Vinayak Chaturthi celebrations ended, the students and parents of JMA left with beaming faces and pride that they were indeed part of an institution which is a shining jewel in the crown among the schools at Pilani.
