The Organic Hound Co. Announces USDA Organic Certification on all Their Organic Dog Treats
The Organic Hound Co. has always used USDA certified organic ingredients to make their organic dog treats, but by going through the organic certification process themselves, the company has validated their dog treats and their processes to pet parents who embrace the organic lifestyle for their dog. Now, all three Organic Hound Co. dog treat flavors – which include Organic Beef Heart, Organic Pumpkin Ginger, and Organic Peanut Butter Flax – will display the USDA organic seal. The Organic Hound Co. is now the only company in the state of New Hampshire to offer USDA certified organic dog biscuits.Assuring the level of quality associated with the USDA organic seal gives The Organic Hound Co. a lot of credibility in the pet treat industry, which is loosely regulated at this time. USDA organic dog treats are held to the same quality standards as certified organic foods for humans. This means that The Organic Hound Co. uses no artificial ingredients and no preservatives in their organic dog treats. The high standards that accompany USDA organic regulations are exactly what motivated the company to pursue organic certification.
Co-Owner Jess Hendelman says, “Dog owners can now look at The Organic Hound Co.’s treat boxes and know exactly what kind of company we are and what we stand for. The USDA organic seal not only represents our commitment to using the highest quality ingredients, but also our support of sustainability and eco-friendly practices.”
The Organic Hound Co. was formed one year ago by Jess Hendelman, Michelle Clark, and Deb Harmon. After losing their jobs suddenly, the women decided to follow their shared passion for dogs and dog health and nutrition to start an organic dog treat company. Instead of baking dog treats out of their home kitchen, the women converted a barn on their property into a commercial bakery. From the beginning, they always operated their bakery as if it was a USDA certified organic facility, using only certified organic ingredients in their dog treats and maintaining organic integrity at all times.
At this time, The Organic Hound Co. USDA certified organic dog treats are available in three varieties:
Organic Beef Heart – Grain and gluten free
Organic Peanut Butter Flax – Promotes healthy skin and coat
Organic Pumpkin Ginger – For dogs with sensitive systems
The Organic Hound Co. treats are available on the company’s website, www.theorganichound.com , for $8.95/9oz box. Interested vendors can also visit the website to learn more about wholesale options offered by The Organic Hound Co.
The Organic Hound Co. isn't your average dog biscuit company. In fact, we pride ourselves in going above and beyond to produce the healthiest dog biscuit possible. Our organic dog treats are USDA certified organic, which means your dog will enjoy a snack that is free of artificial ingredients, preservatives, additives, and fillers.
In addition to only using high quality ingredients, we also care about where these ingredients come from. Whenever possible, we obtain our major ingredients from small New England producers and farmers. We are proud to be a member of NH Made and we hope that you and your four legged friend will enjoy our organic dog biscuits.
