Mithi's SkyConnect, cloud-based email & collaboration platform, just released an upgrade to the Data Leak Prevention security module. In addition to the Mail flow policies control available in SkyConnect, which acts as the first line of defense to prevent data loss/leakage, the new security capability allows you intercept email carrying private, sensitive information viz. Aadhar number, banking or financial information, cardholder information, health care information, mobile numbers, PAN numbers, passport number, personally identifiable information, Postal Index number, Vehicle registration number and take action to modify and/or monitor such email.Data leak prevention (DLP) comprises strategies and tools to ensure that end-users do not send sensitive, private or critical information outside the corporate network. Amongst other industries, the financial, healthcare, ITES and manufacturing industries should carefully design their Data Leak Prevention security strategies.
Financial information, private data (PII), PHI (personal health information) and IP (intellectual property) are transported via email in these organizations. So consequently, any loss or leakage of this information can carry a high legal and commercial risk.
The new release of SkyConnect will be crucial to improve the security posture of our customers and provide them with the flexibility to define DLP policies for modification and monitoring of emails based on the user's role, mail attributes, and mail content.
