Jimmy’s Presents Ladies’ Couture to Benefit Alzheimer’s Association Long Island

On July 9, some of the most exquisite cocktail and evening wear and red-carpet ready-to-wear ladies’ fashions will be available for purchase at Jimmy’s, located at 167 Main Street in Westhampton Beach. Ten percent of the sales proceeds will benefit Alzheimer’s Association Long Island’s newly established satellite office at 33 Flying Point Road in Southampton.

Those in attendance will get to meet internationally known fashion designer Lorena Sarbu. Originally from Romania, Ms. Sarbu moved to the United States, where she realized her childhood dream of becoming a designer. While studying business and design at the International Academy of Design & Technology in Chicago, she worked on designing her own creations that would eventually become her signature collection. She later continued her studies at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles. In 2009, Ms. Sarbu launched her elegant evening wear collection. A year later, she opened her own showroom in New York.

Ms. Sarbu infuses her glamorous and European-inspired personal style into each of her beautifully timeless creations. With an eye for exquisite detail, she combines sumptuous fabrics, unique textures and intricate embellishments to create distinctively stunning designs for the modern woman. She has already garnered a following in Hollywood, bringing style and glamour to the red carpet with her unique couture designs.

“We would like to thank Jimmy’s for hosting this wonderful event to benefit our new East End office,” said Mary Ann Malack-Ragona, Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer, Alzheimer’s Association Long Island. “With the addition of the Southampton office, those in the East End who suffer from Alzheimer’s disease will no longer have to travel great distances to receive services.”

According to Alzheimer’s Association Long Island, there are 5.4 million people who have Alzheimer’s disease and 60,000 of that number are living on Long Island. Alzheimer’s is the sixth leading cause of death in the U.S.
