Press release from: Halo Publishing International

San Antonio, TX - USA, July 24th, 2019 -- With twenty years of experience as an educator, Mary Ostrowski knows how important it is to encourage children to express themselves thoughtfully. She has worked in public and private schools, in the United States and abroad, as a teacher and administrator. She worries that the current school system all too frequently forces teachers to “teach to the test,” thereby losing creativity and art in the process. Ostrowski is determined to help make a change.

Ostrowski says, “As an educator, one of the things I have loved teaching the most is writing and helping children find their voice.”

In her children’s journal, Drip, Drop and Drizzle: A Journal for Growing Your Child’s Creativity, Mary Ostrowski invites young readers to be authors themselves, to fill the pages with their own drawings, and to interpret the questions and prompts posed with their own words. She tells them to call her Ms. Mary to put them at ease and tells them to have fun creating their own pictures and stories. Because, she says, “There is no right way, only your way.”

Because she has learned what works, Ostrowski has incorporated her method in this fun and interactive book to help children think for themselves and to express and articulate their opinions both in the classroom and beyond. The book is for “younger kids or kids who think they don’t have anything to write about. It’s helping them to use their imagination first.”

“Writing is such an important skill and one that cannot be underestimated today,” comments Publisher Lisa M. Umina. “Ostrowski’s love of writing is present on each page. She is making this accessible to children and encouraging them so that they can enjoy the creative process. The book is undeniably great for children, but adults will be surprised that even they stand to learn a lot from it.”
