IndianFootball.Com, India's Premier Football Site, is celebrating its 9th anniversary today

Further we are more than proud to announce that IndianFootball.Com has crossed the magical 1.000.000 IP-checked hits barrier on April 7!

Founded on April 10, 1998
IndianFootball.Com was founded on April 10, 1998 by Arunava Chaudhuri, an expatriate Indian born and bred in Germany. Since its start IndianFootball.Com has been the only real source for Indian football information on the web, not only focussing on a club or state but trying to bring as much as possible of football from across India to the footballing world and also taking the expatriates game back to India.
From a one man team IndianFootball.Com has grown into an editorial team of 13 editors & correspondents based across the globe, led by Chaudhuri and Chris Punnakkattu Daniel.
The main base is still in Germany plus Calcutta, Mumbai, Delhi, Kochi & Bangalore in India.

IndianFootball.Com does not only restrict itself to journalistic work, but is actively involved in the developing process of Indian football.

World Cup coverage, MoU with the Bundesliga and new team members
The 8th year on the net was a quite eventful and memorable one for the whole crew behind this project!
On the jounalistic side, IndianFootball.Com looks back at successful coverages of national (e.g. National Football League, Federation Cup, IFA Shield) and international events (e.g. 2006 FIFA World Cup, AFC Youth Championship 2006).
Apart from the from that, IndianFootball.Com's Arunava Chaudhuri and Chris Punnakkattu Daniel were instrumental in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) reached between the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and the Deutsche Fußball-Liga (German Bundesliga).

IndianFootball.Com expanded its editorial team in the 8th year of existence, while appointing new editors/correspondents in Calcutta, Dubai, Goa, Delhi and North America!
A special welcome note to the new team member: Samrat Chatterjee (Calcutta Correspondent), Jerry Joy (Dubai Correspondent), Rhys Mascarenhas (Goa Correspondent), Nitin Pant (Delhi Correspondent) and Harmit Singh Kamboe (North America Correspondent).

1.000.000 IP-checked hits barrier crossed
The 9th anniversary is accompanied by another milestone for India's longest-serving football website: IndianFootball.Com crossed the 1.000.000 (1 Million) "IP-Checked" User HITs barrier on April 7, 2007!

"IP-CHECKED" means a person is only counted as one hit on a single given day and multiple visits won't be included to our overall hits, while other simliar websites prefer to do so!

We only started with the counter on the site in 1999 and we had crossed the 100.000 barrier on May 9, 2002; the 200.000 barrier on July 18, 2003; the 300.000 barrier on March 29, 2004; the 400.000 barrier on November 16, 2004; the 500.000 barrier on May 18, 2005; the 600.000 barrier on December 21, 2005; while we crossed the 700.000 HITs just before the start of the 2006 FIFA World Cup and on October 16, 2006 we had crossed the 800.000 HITs before we crossed the 900.000 HITs barrier on January 24.
We have been seeing with delight the HITs going up considerably in the last couple of month's. Sadly we have to add that the counter hasn't always worked, so we actually will have crossed the 1.000.000 HITs mark quite a while ago.

We can proudly say that IndianFootball.Com still is India's Premier Football Website and the success of the site also proves for us that our hard work and dedication pays off with the return of the visitors/users in search of quality Indian football news and results. And we happily see that we are getting more and more HITs everyday!
