Great honour for Kräuter Mix at the Nestlé award ceremony.

Great honour for Kräuter Mix at the Nestlé award ceremony.

The world’s largest food group Nestlé has more than 11,600 suppliers around the globe. Kräuter Mix from Abtswind ranks among the best in Germany. This was confirmed to Managing Partner Bernhard Mix and Head of Sales Dorell Laudenbach at the Nestlé headquarters in Frankfurt am Main. At the Nestlé Supplier Award ceremony, German CEO Marc Boersch and Head of Procurement Gaby Symonds honored the Lower Franconian producer of air-dried vegetable raw materials as the top 20 supplier for its outstanding achievements in the areas of innovation, service and cooperation as well as sustainability and flexibility. "This award is a great appreciation for us and a confirmation of our customer orientation," said Bernhard Mix. "The certificate gets a place of honour with us".

In particular, the Nestlé managers appreciated the product quality and long-term sustainability activities at Kräuter Mix carried out by an in-house team of experts in Abtswind. "Our social and ecological commitment is well above the industry average," said Dorell Laudenbach. This was also demonstrated at the award ceremony by the fact that Kräuter Mix was nominated as the only supplier of dried herbs, vegetables and spices, and the other award winners came from other fields.

For more than 25 years now Nestlé has been purchasing products from Kräuter Mix. The large bandwidth ranges from garlic and onions to culinary herbs and Mediterranean herbs and on to various spices. This makes the food group one of the largest customers of the Abtswind family-owned company, which has been in existence for 100 years and generated sales of 115 million euros in 2018 with its 420 employees.

Since 1919 the fruits of nature have been our passion

Kräuter Mix from the Franconian town of Abtswind in Germany, the family business run by a third and fourth generation of owners, supplies the food and pet food industries, the pharmaceutical industry and trade with high-quality plant-based raw materials. We offer our customers an extensive product portfolio ranging from dried vegetables and mushrooms, culinary herbs, spices and superfoods through to phytopharmaceutical substances and medicinal, fruit and herbal teas, as mixtures or as individual ingredients. We supply you with our products in almost all forms of processing and refining, both conventional and certified organic.

Many of our products, gently processed in Abtswind, are found in well-known pharmaceuticals and foodstuffs around the globe. To this end, we procure our raw materials from the best cultivation and collection areas around the globe. Our integrated quality management system with numerous certifications creates safety for customers and also attaches particular importance to the ecological and social aspects of sustainability. Along with our extensive, increasingly sustainable product portfolio coupled with an understanding of environmental responsibility, we also offer a variety of options in the field of wage labor including stored product protection and germ reduction.

Our customers around the globe choose us for our 100 years of experience, our technical capacities, the expertise of our qualified employees and our collaboration with international, high-performance partner companies and last but not least for the provision of individual solutions. Among our customers are groups and companies such as Unilever, Nestlé, Frutarom Savory Solutions, Mondelez, Kotanyi, Wiberg, Van Hees, Twinings and Kneipp.

Our corporate philosophy "Passion for Plants" serves as a basis for our acting and is our secret of success when it comes to efficiency. Our core competency is the production of customer-specific products along with a high standard of safety. Our customers benefit from our many years of expertise in the field of various processing techniques applied with partly GMP-certified machines and plants: drying, cutting, grinding, grading, screening, cleaning, sorting, mixing, pelletizing, packaging, germ reducing according to the saturated steam principle and protective store product treatment.

Our infestation-protected warehousing of products from overlapping harvests guarantees a high degree of product availability and avoids, together with further power modules (e.g. just-in-time deliveries), a cost-driving quarantine and other downtime costs for our customers. Kräuter Mix is also well-established as outsourcing partner for the food, pet food and pharmaceutical items producing industry. Kräuter Mix undertakes all tasks in the context of a Supply Chain Management Concept, from the outsourcing of a sub-process through to complete process solutions.

Safety arising from competence is among our most important success factors to satisfy our business partners. Exceeding our customers’ requirements is our driving force.

Kräuter Mix – Your partner when it comes to health and taste
