The annual summer festival which is has been put together for the last 2 years by a group of volunteers from the local Sutton community will return to the Sutton Arena Green Space next to the David Weir Leisure Centre, Middleton Road on Saturday 22nd June
This year’s St Helier Music and Community Festival (SHMACF) has over 80 community and charity stalls, a huge live music stage, inflatable games and bouncy castles, displays from local dance, boxing and gymnastics groups along with a fun Mascot race at 3pm. Also new for 2019 is an amazing Food-Zone full of tempting delights from around the world.
Susan Peters, chair of the SHMACF committee, said: “This festival has always been a family event and we are incredibly proud of everyone involved in bringing this to the community again this year, especially the local businesses who have really supported us this year, enabling us to create a larger, more exciting event for all the community to enjoy.”
The St Helier Music and Community Festival gives local charities and community groups - ranging in size from a couple volunteers to larger operations – a unique opportunity to promote their causes to their community. It also allows local residents to enjoy a stress-free day out, as there is no entry fee to attend and most of the entertainment throughout the day is free (displays, music, dancing, etc). Attendees will find activities to not only suitable for families but also surprises such as celebrity guests and lookalikes, information stands, career stands and much more, so it’s truly a day for everyone.
Karin Flower, Celeb FC founder, said: “I am delighted to have been asked to assist again with the organising of the SHMACF, as for Celeb FC, small UK charities and community groups are closest to our heart. This is truly an inclusive event, with something for everyone and something I am very proud to be involved with.
The SHMACF will be held on the St Helier Open Space, next to the David Weir Leisure Centre in Middleton Road (SM5 1SL), from Midday to 6pm on June 22nd.
