MOOYAH BURGERS, FRIES & SHAKES TO OPEN THIS WEEK AT STATE HOUSE SQUARE

This summer, residents of Hartford will have a better burger to sink their teeth into as MOOYAH “moo-ves” into town. State House Square will mark the award-winning fast casual brand’s first location in Connecticut.

Matt Rusconi and David Vorchheimer, longtime friends and the newest MOOYAH franchisees, are excited to open their first MOOYAH location this week.

“Hartford is a great lunch city,” says Rusconi. “MOOYAH is a place where everyone fits in and the working crowd can grab a fast, delicious meal.”

Connecticut’s first MOOYAH location at State House Square will cater to the lunch crowd and operate during the hours of 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. Rusconi and Vorchheimer have also signed a lease to open a second MOOYAH location later this year in West Hartford which will be open for lunch and dinner.

MOOYAH, while known for its fun, fast casual atmosphere, is best known for its high quality burgers, fresh buns, hand-cut fries and hand-spun milkshakes. Burgers are made from never-frozen, 100 percent lean American beef that doesn’t include additives, fillers or preservatives.

But the brand doesn’t stop at beef. For carb counters, the “Iceburger” is a patty wrapped in hand leafed lettuce, and the black bean burger and turkey burger are also favorites.

“Unlike so many burger chains, the MOOYAH brand isn’t boring or age specific. MOOYAH is colorful, friendly and has more variety. The food is excellent. And the atmosphere and vibe really have something for everybody—for guys like David and I, and someone like you.”

MOOYAH, based out of Frisco, Texas, is no stranger to the spotlight. Restaurants are currently opening in Texas, Tennessee, Louisiana, Arkansas, Kansas, Virginia, Maryland, Connecticut, and Washington, D.C.

The better burger leader has consistently ranked in the Top 10 of FastCasual.com’s annual Top 100 Movers & Shakers list, which is where Rusconi and Vorchheimer first heard about the brand.

BurgerBusiness, an online news site dedicated exclusively to the burger biz, included MOOYAH in its list of “11 Burger Chains to Watch in 2011.” And Alan Hixon, the chain’s president who spearheaded the growth of the restaurant from local cult classic to blossoming national star, was also recently named one of “10 Restaurant Execs to Watch in 2011” by Nation’s Restaurant News.

“The hamburger dining public is attracted to MOOYAH for its high-quality fun dining experience,” says Alan Hixon, MOOYAH President. “Our focus has always been on delivering a better burger experience but we also strive deliver that one of a kind MOOYAH Magic every time the customer steps through our door. When they walk out happy and satisfied we know they will be back.”

The brand’s growth also expands into the world of technology. MOOYAH has a special loyalty program run via iPhones and Android devices that stems from a partnership with Mobestream Media, the creators of the widely used Key Ring app.

The State House Square MOOYAH restaurant is scheduled to open its doors on Wednesday, May 25, 2011.

MOOYAH Burgers, Fries, & Shakes is an emerging leader of the “better-burger” fast casual segment.

The family friendly menu features made-to-order hamburgers using 100-percent fresh American beef; freshly baked buns, hand-cut French fries made from high quality Idaho potatoes, and handcrafted 100-percent ice cream shakes.

Ranked #1 in Fast Casual’s “2009 Top 100 Movers and Shakers,” MOOYAH, the popular Frisco, Texas based company, offers online and text message ordering, and a cookout trailer for corporate, social and fundraising events.

MOOYAH began franchising in 2007. More information is available at www.mooyah.com. Follow MOOYAH on Twitter @MooyahBurger and connect with MOOYAH on Facebook at the MOOYAH Burgers & Fries Fan page.
