moviebakery award - fighting global warming with web videos
Denver, Cologne, March 27th, 2007: Today is the launch date for an unusual contest named “moviebakery award“ (moviebakery.com). The objective is to increase awareness for the global warming debate with a number of eye-catching web videos. The marketing agency conceptbakery, located in the United States and in Germany calls video artists to action: no matter whether they are amateurs, semi or full professionals. Every video artist with a creative mind is invited to participate. Conceptbakery is looking for funny, provoking, out of the box, or simply different short movies that reflect on the global warming debate from various angles.
The winners will receive cash prizes and maximum attention since conceptbakery will promote the movies across the Internet.
“Many great ideas are generated by accident and when no one is looking for them. It is no surprise to us that some of the most popular content on the web is produced by outsiders - not Hollywood professionals or marketing experts but by average Internet users taking the initiative.” says Felix Holzapfel, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of conceptbakery Germany. “We’d like to combine that creative potential with social networking and try to make an impact in the global warming debate.”
Conceptbakery uses the moviebakery award to support the organization “StopGlobalWarming.org“ (www.stopglobalwarming.org). All videos submitted for the contest need to mention StopGlobalWarming.org and display the organizations’ logo. However, the moviebakery award is not sponsored by any third party. The award was initiated and all cost is covered by conceptbakery.
You might ask yourself why we are supporting "StopGlobalWarming.org" with our award? Here are some of our reasons:
We believe that the topic of global warming has worldwide appeal. People get that something needs to happen in the near future. The topic affects all of us in many different ways and we hope that it will inspire movie makers to participate and to come up with some outstanding productions. We are trying to add some fuel to the debate via our grassroots approach.
Klaus Holzapfel, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of conceptbakery USA states: “We had a number of reasons to support StopGlobalWarming":
A) A worldwide shift towards the slowing of global warming could best be initiated by the United States. That's why we decided to support an American organization.
B) StopGlobalWarming.org is a grassroots organization without a huge marketing budget. Involving and empowering the crowds is a core element of guerilla and viral marketing – that’s what conceptbakery is all about.
C) Just like many other companies, we at conceptbakery try to pursue goals that reach beyond the commercial world of a marketing agency. We have done so in the past and will continue to do so in the future. This project is a great showcase for using our abilities and trying to make a difference.”
The deadline for submitting the videos is April 30th. The winners will be announced on May 15th. The top videos will be shared at the moviebakery web site and will also be published in various online video portals. The winning videos will be promoted with various marketing activities.
Additional information about the moviebakery award and the option to register for the contest can be found online at www.moviebakery.com.
