GE Healthcare Performance Solutions Expands Global Leadership Team; Appoints New Managing Principal in UK

BUC, FRANCE – May 18, 2011 – GE Healthcare today announced the appointment of Andy Ward as Managing Principal, GE Healthcare Performance Solutions, United Kingdom (UK). In this role, Ward will be responsible for leading the growth for Performance Solutions, primarily within the UK healthcare sector. Ward’s reputation and expertise of transformational change in healthcare will be invaluable as he looks to strengthen partnerships with hospitals and health systems to better improve their overall performance.

Ward brings over 10 years of experience in the healthcare industry, specifically addressing the issue of sustainable improvement, efficiencies and productivity. Previously, Ward worked with the National Health Service (NHS) in his position as a leader in Deloitte’s Healthcare and Public Sector Operations Practice in London and has deep experience delivering transformation in UK, Middle East and Australian healthcare systems, from policy implementation to sustainable front line performance improvement.

Ward holds an MBA from Open University and his BSc, Applied Physics from Brunel University, West London. He is a Chartered Engineer, and as a Member of the Associate of Project Management is a judge in their annual awards. He is also on the editorial panel of the International Journal of Management and Marketing.

Other recent leadership posts include the appointment of Dr. Peter Angood, former Senior Advisor for Patient Safety at the National Quality Forum (NQF), as the Medical Director of the GE Patient Safety Organization (PSO) in the USA.
