Chengdu Commodity Exchange All Set to Launch Thursday Weekly ForEx Options
CGCEX, an ideal trading destination for investors, traders and companies looking to invest, hedge or speculate by tapping into large pools of local, global and institutional investor capital, today announced that last week, CGCEX announced that the company will be launching its Thursday Weekly ForEx options (Thursday options) considering the growing customer demand. Moreover, the surprising growth in the existing weekly ForEx options is also the reason behind the company launching Thursday options.
As per the sources, the Thursday options will be available in volatile quoted and premium quoted European style options. That is, it will be available with a 3 PM Central Daylight Time (CDT) fix on five currency pair – CNY/USD, EUR/USD, CAD/USD, GBP/USD, and AUS/USD.
A company official said that the Thursday options will be made available for clearing and trading during the 2nd quarter after getting the clearance for the pending regulatory approval.
Weekly options are used by the investors, traders, and market participants to precisely manage the currency risk during the week. As per the reports, the existing ForEx Weekly options daily average volume reached a record. And seeing this, CGCEX will launch its new Thursday options for the market participants. It is believed that the number will go higher as compared to its previous record.
When asked to a company official, he stated that their clients want to further refine their contact to mid-week announcements from different financial institutions; mostly the central institutions. Moreover, the event-related trading and investing activities are growing on a vast scale. This has led the investors and traders to look for supplementary granularity of these short-dated ForEx weekly options along with the capability to spread market opportunities and leverage capital efficiencies available in the markets.
If things go as planned, CGCEX will launch the Thursday options in other classes as well. It is believed that the Thursday Weekly Treasury options will trade around a million contracts given that the ongoing geopolitical uncertainty will not affect its performance.
