CHEF BIG SHAKE, FRESH FROM “THE SHARK TANK,” TO APPEAR AT NATIONAL RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION SHOW IN CHICAGO MAY 21-24

(FRANKLIN, TN) – Chef Big Shake (Shawn Davis), whose CBS Foods features a range of gourmet seafood offerings including his famed Original Shrimp Burger, will appear at the National Restaurant Association Show 2011, to be held at McCormick Place in Chicago from May 21-24. Davis’ appearance in Chicago comes a day after ABC’s scheduled May 20 repeat airing of his national TV debut in “The Shark Tank.”

His NRA show appearance will include samplings of some of CBS’s most popular items. The CBS line includes four different varieties of the Shrimp Burger, including the Original variety, blending shrimp with a succulent mix of peppers and spices, as well as Jalapeno, Cajun, and Teriyaki. The line also features three down-home and tasty options for lobster -- Lobster Slider, Lobster Pot Pie, and Lobster Mac and Cheese.

According to the National Restaurant Association, its Show 2011 is the restaurant and hospitality industry’s most comprehensive trade show, attracting tens of thousands of attendees and visitors from all 50 states and more than 100 countries. The annual event features more products, services, innovative ideas and other growth opportunities than any other industry event.

Davis’ appearance on “The Shark Tank,” which initially aired last month, features him pitching his business concept to a team of investors including Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, comedian Jeff Foxworthy, real estate investor Barbara Corcoran, and infomercial pioneer Kevin Harrington.

Davis, who is now 40, began his food career as a 12-year-old apprentice to restaurateur Giovanni Palermo, rising to the ranks of head chef at Palermo’s restaurant on Fire Island, one of New York’s most noted resort destinations. CBS Foods, originally “Fry Factor,” was founded by Shawn Davis in 2007. Shawn, also known as “Chef Big Shake,” grew up in Long Island, New York in the early 80s. His passion for cooking was cultivated when his mother sent him to Fire Island at the age of twelve. His mother wanted him to avoid the rapidly growing infestation of drugs to his once beautiful neighborhood. When he reached the island, he studied under the mentorship of restaurant owner, Giovanni Palmero on Ocean Beach, Fire Island. He cooked in this fine Italian restaurant for seven years he had the opportunity to work in every station of the kitchen. He eventually became the head chef. He credits the time and attention Giovanni dedicated to him for inspiring his love of creating exquisite and tasty cuisine. One of Chef Big Shake’s first creations was The “Original” Shrimp Burger. He created it for his daughter who at age 10, decided to eliminate all meats, except seafood, from her diet.
