Dazzling Finish to Lead School JMA Pilani Choose and Chase Passion Theme Summer School

Smt. Jamuna Mishra Academy (JMA) established in the year 2004 is presently one of the most sought after schools at Pilani considered as Oasis in the desert state of Rajasthan well known in India today for top ranking institutions like G D Birla founded Birla Institute of Technology and Science BITS Pilani as well as CSIR Laboratory CEERI and globally renowned Birla Science Centre.

No one has doubt that the truest passions indeed emerge in childhood, only to be suppressed by parental and real life pressures. Hence, it is important for any schooling system to facilitate the identification and pursuit of passions as early as possible. It is known that every school system across the country operates for ten months in a year by the prescribed syllabus of Board of affiliation which may be Central Board or State Board.

But for pursuing passions, summer break is indeed the time for children to take time off from the robotic routine of going to school and getting immersed in the syllabus. It is a matter of great pride that JMA Pilani not only has been producing 100 percent results in board examinations year after year but also conducting summer camps to nurture passion every year.

In the light of the above, JMA Pilani has organized a summer camp for children during 11 – 20 May 2019 to enable students to pursue their passions. The activities include aerobics, martial arts, music (xylophone, keyboard, table, Conga drum (tumbadora), tabla, harmonium) and last but not the least Soft skills with focus on spoken English. The charges for one activity was fixed at Rs 175/- while for two activities Rs 300/-. Over a hundred students are enthusiastically participating in the summer camp and chilling out to beat the 40+ deg C. heat. JMA Pilani Summer Camp 2019 indeed had a roaring start on 11 May 2019 with Principal Mrs Booma Natarajan giving a clarion call urging the students to choose and chase their passion and maximize their FQ – Feel good Quotient.

The coordinators for various activities included Ms Preeti Jhakhodia and Ms Monika Meena for Aerobics, Shri Rakesh Kumar and Ms Sarla Sharma for Karate, Shri Harish Parihar and Ms Renu Sharma for Music and Ms Diksha Sharma for Spoken English.

On 20 May 2019, in a colourful function, cheered by loud rounds of applause, the students demonstrated their skills in the school and concluded with distribution of certificates to all participants. The students and teachers of JMA who attended the summer camp concluding session left with beaming faces and pride that they were indeed part of an institution which is a shining jewel in the crown among the schools at Pilani.
