Telecel Group acquires Limba, a European telecommunications operator in Gibraltar
May, 2019 (Gibraltar) - Telecel Group acquires Limba, a key mobile operator in Gibraltar. Telecel Group have finalized the purchases of Limba’s majority shares, hence, Limba has become part of the networks owned and operated by the Group. The acquisition should deliver high quality and innovated services to Limba’s customers, putting the acquired company on the right track to success. Telecel Group aims to create an international HUB to digitalize businesses in Africa and to expand their base across borders and widen their footprint across the world, including Europe. The official acquisition date is 16th May, 2019.Established in 2017, Limba is the second Mobile operator (2G/3G/4G licenses). With 40 antennas throughout Gibraltar, Limba provides fixed services throughout the territory. Gibraltar is also well connected to international sea-cable for Data and have a strategic place for Data service in the future.

Telecel Group is reaffirming this leadership by establishing a new African highway of data traffic by adding a mobile network operation in Gibraltar, which is a strategic “Gateway” to Europe”, stated Mr. Hugues Mulliez, Chairman of Telecel Group.
