Included is the inspiring story of an alcoholic grandfather and a wheel-chair bound grandmother who took on the arduous task of raising three rambunctious kids after their father deserted them in their pre-teen years at the start of WW II.

About The Author
Jack Dukes was born dead in an isolated farmhouse in Muscotah, KS on August 9, 1930. A country doctor started his breathing by dipping him from ice water into almost scalding water. He's hated extreme temperatures ever since. Dukes is a brain damaged veteran of the Korean War and is permanently and totally disabled. He loves life with a passion that only God could understand.
His book, Without Apology, chronicles the travels and poverty of the Great Depression up until 18 years later and is the first of a planned three-book effort.
