Fred Wilber graduated from New York State College at Oswego in 1950. Fate magazine published his first short story the same year, and Leswing Publishers produced his children’s reader in 1965. For over a decade, The Valley News of Fulton, New York, has published his weekly columns. He was born in Syracuse, New York, in 1926. Memoirs of an American Sailor is his first published novel.
