Minnesota roads to create thousands of construction jobs, ConstructionCrossing finds 4,500 jobs.
Pasadena, CA, May 4, 2011 – Minnesota is embarking on a roads improvement program which is expected to create almost 10,000 jobs in the state’s construction industry. The program known as the “Better Roads for a Better Minnesota” was announced on Tuesday by Governor Mark Dayton and MnDOT commissioner Tom Sorel. They said that the program will create 9,900 jobs in the private sector.
The program is aimed at improving around 700 miles of the state’s highways. Governor Dayton has said that the program will improve highway conditions. The four-year program will upgrade and fix existing highways which are found to be in a poor condition. Minnesota currently has 750 miles of trunk highway that fall under that category.
The $398 million program will be funded by state and federal funds as well as previously authorized bonds. This is excluding the $980 million in funding that the MnDOT has already committed to road projects till June 2014.
Harrison Barnes, CEO of ConstructionCrossing, says “There are jobs in the construction sector, and most of the states are creating jobs again in this sector. The work is spread around small projects throughout the country, and the best way to get a job out there, is by being the first guy there.”
Barnes’ website, ConstructionCrossing, specializes in tracking down all construction related jobs and it has been able to find over 4,500 jobs so far.
ConstructionCrossing is part of the Employment Research Institute, one of the most powerful and comprehensive job search institutions dedicated to helping professionals find jobs that will enhance their careers. Employment Research Institute consists of 90+ industry-specific job boards which consolidate every job opening it can find in one convenient location. The website also offers a three-day free trial to new members.
