College graduates face better job market than last year,

Pasadena, CA, May 3, 2011 – The National Association of Colleges and Employers says that almost 24,000 college graduates will be hired this year. This is an increase of 19.3 percent over the last year.

The association’s findings are based on its 2011 survey which suggests that industries which are going to be doing the most hiring are in the oil and gas sector, manufacturing, and computer and electronics companies. Graduates who are planning to become math and science teachers are also in a good position.
Another report, from the outplacement firm, Challenger, Gray & Christmas Inc says that the job market for new college graduates looking for entry-level jobs is at its best since 2008.

The increased competition for entry level jobs means that college graduates will increasingly have to keep up with new ways of tracking jobs. Several employers, especially small and mid-sized businesses do not advertise on traditional job boards or visit college job fairs far from their location.

Job search engines such as EntryLevelCrossing specialize in tracking down jobs directly from employer websites. EntryLevelCrossing has been able to find over 17,000 jobs in entry level positions so far across the country.

EntryLevelCrossing is part of the Employment Research Institute, one of the most powerful and comprehensive job search institutions dedicated to helping professionals find jobs that will enhance their careers. Employment Research Institute consists of 90+ industry-specific job boards which consolidate every job opening it can find in one convenient location. The website also offers a three-day free trial to new members.
