Sunway International Hotels & Resorts forecast leaps in demand with its new online brand campaign themed “BOOK-IN”

Malaysia, Petaling Jaya, April 25 – SIHR is unveiling the first of its series of online promotional campaign on 1 May 2011, pulling ahead of competitors in offering attractive deals which could be made via hi-tech traveler-friendly booking features. This campaign aptly named “BOOK-IN” will be made available in two of SIHR’s tactical promotion launches planned for this year; the first in May and the second in September. Both campaigns will offer room rate discounts up to 40% off BAR rates with a minimum of two nights stay from nine of their hotel properties in Asia. Facebook members will also receive F&B vouchers per booking as an additional perk. Reservation period for this campaign is from 01 May 2011 to 31 May 2011 with the travelling period of May 2011 until August 2011.

SIHR’s new promotional campaign was meticulously developed with the objective to allow travelers to make a quick and simple hotel room booking at an affordable rate. BOOK-IN is visually represented with a logo that uses horizontal arrows surrounding our globe which translates to ‘fluidity and the ease of global travel without fuss’. The logo in green color reflect the Sunway & Allson Brand Identity.

A string of e-marketing strategies was implemented since last year which is crucial in driving a demand and converting online bookings into a substantial amount of revenue. This marketing approach comes in hand with the awareness among online users that hotel room rates are much lower compared to traditional phone reservation or making a hotel reservation through local travel agents.

This campaign will assist SIHR group of hotels’ in their continuous e-marketing by selling and optimizing its SEO numbers considering 40% of all travel bookings and destination research are made by the traveler using the internet.

Director of Business Development, Fanny Ng commented that “It is amazing to see how doing business online has evolved today. In the past, hotel chains would rely on the strength of their brand name or location alone. Hotels before used to leverage on the Internet only by piggyback riding off some of the travel agent booking sites. Today more and more hotels are using the SEO method to focus on capturing audiences directly and running a self sufficient foundation that opens another avenue for the hotels revenue to rise on”

In support to this, a survey done last year has shown that there is an increase in online hotel reservations from 54% in 2009 to 58% in 2010. This means an average of six out of 10 hotel guests are making online reservations today.

This campaign is created in line with the company’s series of online marketing strategies from social networking in Facebook launched November last year and there after an online lucky draw called “Win A 3D Stay” which has rewarded a total of 32 winners in January this year.
