Chamber CFO William Scarfia Amongst Top Finance Executives in San Diego

The San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce announced today that Chief Financial Officer William Scarfia was presented with a Lifetime Achievement award at the San Diego Business Journal’s 5th Annual CFO of The Year Awards.

San Diego, CA, May 03, 2011 -- The San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce announced today that Chief Financial Officer William Scarfia was presented with a Lifetime Achievement award at the San Diego Business Journal’s 5th Annual CFO of The Year Awards.

“Bill’s smart business strategy and profound operational knowledge has made him invaluable to the Chamber," said Ruben Barrales, president and CEO of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce. "Bill is continually seeking ways in which to increase revenue and profitability, and his efforts have led to impressive financial results. We are very proud of his accomplishment.”

Scarfia has been CFO of the Chamber since 1999. He served as finance committee chairman on the board of Neighborhood House Association. He also served on the board of the Herb Klein Legacy Fund of The San Diego Foundation, a donor advised fund that seeks to support educational and research programs that enhance the economic vitality of the region, and was a member of the First Five Commission of San Diego.

Scarfia belongs to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California CPA Society. He is currently licensed as a CPA in California and New York.

Scarfia was also one of the San Diego Business Journal’s CFO of the Year award recipients in 2007.
