California forklift dealer puts the fun back in fundraising for children’s organizations.
SANTA FE SPRINGS, CA – May 7, 2019 --Fighting childhood poverty is serious business, but raising money for children doesn’t have to be. While many local businesses choose to run annual fundraisers for charities, few have more fun with it than Raymond Handling Solutions, one of California’s largest forklift suppliers.Each year, they participate in the annual observance of “Red Nose Day”, where employees wear comical plastic red noses throughout their workday. From executives in their corporate offices to their technicians dispatched throughout the state, Raymond Handling Solutions employees are encouraged to wear bulbous red noses throughout the day in an effort to raise awareness and money for children’s charities.
With the generous support of corporate partners, millions of Americans and dozens of celebrities, Red Nose Day launched in the U.S. in 2015 and has raised nearly $150 million for children’s charities since its inception. Funds raised are allocated to several national and international children’s organizations to promote the health, food security and safety of children throughout the world.
Fundraising begins in early May and culminates with Red Nose Day, which falls on Thursday, May 23 this year. “We like to say it puts the fun back in fundraising” said James Wilcox, CEO of Raymond Handling Solutions. “It’s always a day that our employees look forward to, not only because it’s lighthearted, but it gives us a chance to give something back to our own community and children around the world.”
In the last four years, funds raised through Red Nose Day have benefited more than 16 million children in all 50 U.S. states and around the world. Red Nose Day has so far helped to provide:
• Educational services to more than 960,000 children;
• More than 13 million essential medical services for children;
• Care for over 75,000 homeless and street children;
• Over 36 million meals to feed hungry American children.
Raymond Handling Solutions has offices throughout California and the Western U.S., and employees at all of its locations take part in Red Nose Day festivities. “It really is a lot of fun for our team,” said Wilcox, “and the pictures are priceless.”
Anyone can take part in Red Nose Day on May 23. The red plastic noses can be purchased at CVS locations throughout the U.S. and all proceeds go to children’s charities.
