BOSTON – May 1, 2019 – Lola.com, the Agile Travel Management™ company that provides a super simple way to manage, book, and report on business travel, has released the first season of “The Agile Operations Podcast,” hosted by Mike Volpe, the company’s CEO. In Netflix-style binge fashion, Lola.com released six episodes where viewers can hear from some of the top names in business, rallied by Volpe, as they think outside the box in handling operations at their companies. Volpe, well-known in the SaaS and Boston tech community as part of the founding team of HubSpot, joined Lola.com as CEO last year.

WHAT: Season 1 of “The Agile Operations Podcast” Released:

• Episode 1: What the Hell is DFIUFEE? with Dusty Davidson
• Episode 2: How to Teach People to Think Like a CEO with Rob May
• Episode 3: Creating a Culture that Scales with Christina Luconi
• Episode 4: Achieving Organizational Self-Awareness with Hiten Shah
• Episode 5: The Real MVP: Minimum Viable Process with Karen Rubin
• Episode 6: How to Build a Thriving Remote Team with Jessica Meher

WHERE: http://www.agileoperations.org/

“I’m excited to share amazing insight from some brilliant business minds on the hot topic of Agile Operations,” said Volpe. “Thank you to all my guests who brought so many great business tips and tricks for our audience. No episode should be missed.”

Topics range from thinking like a CEO to creating a thriving remote team with guests Dusty Davidson, co-founder and CEO of Flywheel, a fast-growing WordPress hosting company; Rob May, CEO and co-founder of Talla, which builds intelligent assistants to help knowledge workers better do their jobs; Christina Luconi, Chief People Officer at Rapid7; Hiten Shah, founder of companies including Product Habits, Crazy Egg, KISSmetrics and FYI; Karen Rubin, VP of Growth for Owl Labs; and Jessica Meher, VP of Marketing at Notarize.

In Episode 1, Volpe talks with Davidson about the challenges of maintaining a company’s culture as it grows and expands. They discuss the ins and outs of starting and growing companies, how to be data-informed, not data-driven, the importance of embracing weirdness, secrets behind successful onboarding, and more.

In Episode 2, Rob May talks about growing fast and empowering people to make the best decisions, the importance of routine, high-quality employee training, why CEOs hate getting only good news, tips for tightening feedback loops, and determining the right cadence of company-wide conversations.

Luconi focuses on authentic growth and operations instead of best practices in Episode 3. The two discuss the counterintuitive and constantly evolving keys to scaling culture, axing annual performance reviews, how to preserve culture as your company becomes political, and the connection between Italian cooking and people operations.

Hiten joins Volpe to talk about returning to first principles and constantly checking in on organizational health, why he hates the phrase “bootstrapping,” the metrics that matter at different growth stages, and the constant tradeoff between time and money.

A true advocate for the Agile Operations mindset, Rubin talks with Volpe about how startups can use data and creativity to grow fast, knowing when something is “good enough,” the dangers of automating too early, and tips for avoiding over-engineering.

Leading the marketing team at Notarize, a largely remote company with several offices, Meher is constantly looking for new and better ways to collaborate and make processes more efficient. She talks with Volpe about the opportunities and challenges of scaling a decentralized company, including choosing between live and digital conversations, picking the right communication channels, overcoming time zones, and her favorite Slack plugins for remote teams.

Season 2 is already in the works where Volpe plans to feature several leaders at Agile Operations companies, creating the platform for the next great conversation in the Agile Revolution.

Lola.com also recently announced its first Agile Operations Summit being held on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at the award-winning EpiCenter at Artists for Humanity in Boston.
