Denver, Colorado – PeakColo, a leading provider of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solutions and services, announced that it has achieved the VMware vCloud® Powered designation for its cloud service offerings. In doing so, PeakColo is one of the first cloud infrastructure companies in North America to achieve this designation within the VMware Service Provider Program (VSPP).

VMware vCloud Powered is a technology badge for VSPP partners. To attain this badge, PeakColo provides public/hybrid cloud solutions based on VMware vSphere® and VMware vCloud Director through a web portal and Application Programming Interface. Further, the proven support of Open Virtualization Format 1.0 (.OVF) provides customers an unparalleled migration experience to PeakColo’s cloud. PeakColo’s RedCloud, WhiteCloud and BlueCloud solution offerings, all with self-provisioning capabilities, are VMware vCloud Powered. These services complement PeakColo’s private cloud service offerings.

As one of the first to achieve the VMware vCloud Powered designation, PeakColo continues its surge into the true enterprise-class cloud computing arena. With VMware vCloud Director, a corporation can deploy hundreds of virtual machines in minutes on enterprise-grade hardware from NetApp, Brocade and Dell within the PeakColo facilities.

PeakColo delivers the following VMware vCloud Powered cloud-based offerings designed to simplify implementations:

- Infrastructure-as-a-Service. PeakColo enables organizations to drive innovation and agility, while increasing application efficiency and enhancing security. PeakColo’s IaaS provides an evolutionary path to enterprise-class, private, public and hybrid cloud computing via its VMware vCloud Director-based portal utilizing the self-provisioning capabilities of the VMware cloud computing platform.

- White Label. PeakColo offers a unique, self-provisioned White Labeled IaaS solution based on VMware cloud infrastructure and management technologies that enables PeakColo’s service provider clients to diversify their branded solutions and services. With PeakColo’s cloud-based, self-provisioning solutions, PeakColo’s partners can significantly grow their branded business and gain access to over 100 geographic markets worldwide.

- Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity. PeakColo provides cost-effective disaster recovery resources customized to help safeguard systems and data and the ability to recover from business disruptions large and small.

“PeakColo provides cost-effective public, private and hybrid cloud services to our direct and channel customers,” said Luke Norris, president and CEO, PeakColo. “PeakColo’s VMware vCloud® Powered badge gives our customers and our channels customers confidence in our secure VMware software-based private, public and hybrid clouds within our SAS70 Type II, multi-facility environments.”

“VMware is committed to working with service provider partners to bring the benefits of enterprise hybrid cloud computing to customers,” said Dan Chu, vice president, cloud infrastructure and services, VMware. “We’re excited that PeakColo has taken the necessary steps to achieve VMware vCloud Powered status to deliver solutions that help mutual customers transition to a flexible, agile and efficient shared infrastructure.”

VMware’s extensive expertise, innovative technologies, industry-leading partner programs and proven best practices make it possible for PeakColo’s customers to do more with less, with improved agility and responsiveness to business needs.
