Victorian Age Meets Digital Age
The digital age is entering the elegant Victorian age Eurocentres school building. In some classrooms interactive whiteboards have been installed and are now being intensively used with language students from all over the world. The interactive whiteboards have been helping classes become much more exciting and closer to real life. This user-friendly technology enables students to better engage with and discuss up-to-date news or life-style features, enjoy playful grammar exercises, and to discover a language interactively. It is now also much easier for the teacher to coordinate students’ e-learning, since it is possible to preview, interact with and check exercises on our Eurocentres English Campus website, which form an essential part of our personalised self study recommendations. Eurocentres teachers have received comprehensive training in a learner-centred approach to using interactive white boards, and enjoy integrating the new features into their lessons.
Language Learning in the Digital Age
A considered and well-researched introduction of interactive whiteboards to language teaching has been a natural step for Eurocentres, since it allows to respond more flexibly to the individual needs of each student and those of the class as whole. In order to ensure fast and effective learning progress, Eurocentres students receive a highly personalised teaching experience combining communicative tuition with regular assessments and coaching. Teachers also discuss weekly plans with the class in order to ensure that the programme is meeting their expectations.
Interactive whiteboards offer many more options in personalised teaching by allowing greater access and control over a range of audio-visual media, and through the informed approach will further enhance the quality of classes. Eurocentres plans to install interactive whiteboards in all schools.

Over 60 years of Eurocentres
In 1948 our first language school was founded by Dr. Erhard Wespi in Bournemouth. 1959 saw the meeting of the two visionaries Dr. Wespi and Gottlieb Duttweiler. They agreed on cultural exchange cooperation, laying the foundations for a successful and expansive development of Eurocentres. Today, our network of 31 schools and several consultancy offices is part of the Migros Cultural Percentage. The Foundation has made considerable investments in the development of foreign language teaching and has acted as an advisor in this area for the Council of Europe since 1969. Eurocentres academics have contributed significantly to the development of the Common European Framework of Reference.
