Press release from: Rimon Law Group

Former Chief IP Counsel and Ex-Winston & Strawn Attorney Brings Partner-Level Expertise in Intellectual Property Transactions, Patent Prosecution and Litigation. Rimon Law Group, a growing law firm comprised of partner-level attorneys, is strengthening its New York presence with the addition of its newest partner, John E. Boyd.

New York, NY, April 14, 2011 -- Rimon Law Group, a growing law firm comprised of partner-level attorneys, is strengthening its New York presence with the addition of its newest partner, John E. Boyd. On the heels of derivatives specialist Robin Powers, who joined Rimon Law in late 2010, Boyd brings more than 15 years' experience in intellectual property to the firm, along with a strong track record of success in intellectual property transactions, due diligence, patent prosecution and litigation. Past clients have included Mars, Saudi Basic Industries Corporation, Newmont Mining, ATMI, and United Technologies, in addition to IGEN International, a biotech company acquired by Roche Holding, Ltd. for $1.3 billion in 2004.

"John is a key addition to the team," said Michael Moradzadeh, co-founder and managing attorney, Rimon Law Group. "Our other partners now have an in-house resource for intellectual property transactions, due diligence, patent prosecution and litigation issues, thereby creating synergies with the firm’s other practices and reducing client cost."

"Rimon Law is the future of legal counseling," said Boyd. "While the large firms continue to struggle to maintain profitability with various sources of overhead costs, a new wave of aggressive, fast-moving firms like Rimon Law are using technology to deliver an unprecedented level of efficiency and value to clients. It is inspiring to become part of such a diverse group of interesting and talented experienced attorneys."

John Boyd joins the firm as partner in Rimon's Patent Law, Patent Prosecution and Litigation group. Along with providing support for other partners across Rimon's growing network, he will also focus on startups and startup financing, technology licensing and healthcare industries.

With the addition of John Boyd to the team, Rimon Law continues an aggressive growth pattern fueled by a winning business model that combines the efficiencies of a virtual law firm with the quality control of a traditional, brick-and-mortar firm. Founded in 2008, Rimon has expanded both nationally and internationally, with attorney presence in all the major hubs throughout the United States and as far away as Israel.

Among his career highlights, Boyd was a senior intellectual property attorney at Winston & Strawn involved with ligation matters, M&A transactions and patent prosecution. He later served as Chief Intellectual Property Counsel at fast-paced companies in the biotech industry (IGEN International, Inc. and Meso Scale Diagnostics, LLC) and in the semiconductor industry (ATMI, Inc.).

Moreover, he has spoken about intellectual property law at The Society for Biological Screening’s 8th Annual Conference & Exhibition in The Hague, Netherlands and chaired a session at their 10th Annual Conference & Exhibition in Orlando, Florida.

Boyd's other distinctions include being sole inventor of a number of patents: U.S. Patent No. 6,484,148 (“Electronic Advertising Device and Method of Using the Same“) and U.S. Patent Nos. 6,963,900; 7,483,946; 7,716,285 and 7,860,929 (“Computer-based Networking Method and System for Performing the Same“) -- all of which were sold to third parties in 2010. Boyd is also the founder of TTB Technologies, LLC, which owns the business networking platform MeetingWave.com.

Boyd is a member of the New York Bar and a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association as well as registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Boyd began his career at the United States Patent and Trademark Office examining patent applications relating to oxide superconductors.

He is a graduate of George Mason University’s School of Law and Columbia University’s School of Engineering and Applied Science. His complete C.V., including publications and speaking engagements, is available at the Rimon Law website: http://www.rimonlaw.com/attorney/john-boyd.
