The Scrappers expands with vehicle salvage export boost

Press release from: The Scrappers

/ PR Agency: Urban Media
Growing demand from buyers overseas means one North West scrapyard is having to expand its operation to exploit lucrative exporting opportunities.
The Scrappers salvage yard is exporting growing volumes of car and van spare parts, including engines, to overseas buyers in a range of countries, including Mexico, Nigeria, Portugal and Egypt.
Owner Terry Walker said: "The expansion has been in the process for five for five years now and we only used to get trade people coming in, but that's moved in favour of exports with a 60/40 split.
"The main income for us at The Scrappers is exporting so we have to follow that."
One reason for the growth in enquiries and customer base is down to an investment in customer relationship management software that enables a client to find out what they want and whether it is available.
The expansion now sees containers being filled regularly at the Bolton scrapyard for sending overseas and The Scrappers' team is continually looking for cars and vans to scrap and are willing to pay the best prices to keep busy.
The firm also operates a nationwide network of agents to pick up unwanted scrap vehicles from customers who get paid immediately into their bank account.
The scrapyard is also looking to boost the number of people it employs with 17 staff members currently, but next year this could be up to 40.

The Scrappers is a leading vehicle scrap yard in the North West of England with a network of professional agents collecting scrap cars and vans around the UK.
