Printed electronics helps in production of cost effective PV cells which capture energy from sunlight and produce electricity. Printed sensors have been used primarily in medical devices and proved to be less attractive than PV and RFID.
Printed batteries are a new application and have been largely deployed in smart cards but are expected to be used in applications such as smart packaging and printed displays in the near future.
