Mediachase Releases ECF™ G5 Version 5.2

The latest version of the eCommerce Framework (ECF™) includes an improved Order Management System and augmented Search Provider.

Los Angeles, CA – April 6, 2011 –Mediachase today announced the release of the latest version of its eCommerce Framework (ECF™) software platform, which is now available for immediate distribution to customers and partners. This most recent version features a completely redesigned Order Management System as well as a more flexible search provider model, including integration with The Apache Software Foundation’s open source enterprise search platform Solr. Enhancements were also made to the Marketing System, adding new, customizable shipping promotions. These expansions of the already powerful ECF™ technology will allow developers to more easily create superior eCommerce solutions and will improve the ability of businesses to provide high-end ecommerce applications for their customers.

The Order Management System has undergone a significant upgrade in the form of completely new interfaces through which administrators and Customer Service Representatives (CSR) can edit, process, and create orders. New tools have been added to make the order fulfillment process more intuitive to manage from within the ECF™ Commerce Manager, including the ability to manage and release shipments, print pick and pack lists, and process returns through robust RMA capabilities. An order state workflow has also been added to prevent multiple administrators from editing an order simultaneously, and those same administrators can now easily enter orders from scratch on behalf of a customer. In addition to these capabilities, other great features such as the ability to have multiple shipments per line item, a notes area for CSRs, and invoice generation are also now included. Of course, along with all of the enhancements to the Order Management System, designed to create efficient information sharing and more accurate Order Management, customers and partners will still be able to leverage all of the inherent flexibility and control embodied by the ECF™ and its enterprise architecture.

The ECF™ G5 Version 5.2 release also focuses on the end user experience by using the Apache’s Solr search engine, built on top of the existing Lucene implementation, to enable true, enterprise search capabilities. The search provider enhancement allows the ECF™ to easily handle any search paradigm customers would like to implement, including options such as faceted and filtered search, load balancing and scaled search implementations, and more. Leveraging these two leading search technologies, along with the flexible option of integrating with any other third party search provider, customers will have the utmost control and utility to handle any size catalog, promotions, customers, and any other indexed data.

Lastly, the Marketing System, which drives all of the promotions, coupons, and discounts a customer may wish to implement, has undergone a change to allow for custom shipping promotions to easily be configured. The new promotions engine allows users to customize purchase conditions in order to apply different shipping discounts, and will allow ECF™ users entice their customers by implementing unique and compelling discounts and promotions.
