Million order for Proton Motor company from Puchheim: Electric bus manufacturer ebe EUROPA orders 15 hydrogen powered fuel cells
Puchheim, April-9-2019 – Bavarian fuel cell specialist Proton Motor Fuel Cell GmbH of Puchheim near Munich announced the receipt of a confirmed order from ebe EUROPA GmbH during its successful trade fair participation at the „Integrated Energy“ in Hanover last week. The Memmingen-based integrator and distributor of electric buses has ordered 15 hydrogen powered fuel cells with 60 kW generated power. The ultimate customers are four German city councils (Frankfurt am Main, Mainz, Muenster and Wiesbaden). The project value is worth EUR 4.1 million. From the London Stock Exchange, the news was quoted with a plus on the share price of the English parent company Proton Power Systems PLC.The order, which includes service and maintenance contracts as well, is a result of the first tender of European funded „JIVE PROJECT“. The project consists of two tenders, together 290 buses will be deployed within the next two years. Currently three companies from the European mainland and two from United Kingdom qualify for „JIVE 1 & 2“.
Proton Motor CEO, Dr. Faiz Nahab, commented enthusiastically on the receipt while his company is presenting at the leading construction trade fair „bauma“ in Munich right now: „We are very pleased about this order as it further confirms the European appetite for cleaner cities. In addition, it is a clear sign of a higher demand for hydrogen as a clean source of energy.“ Proton Motor Fuel Cell is already talking to the other major suppliers to achieve delivery in the coming months.
