IndiaSkills teams up with Gowtham Model School to impart vocational training

Hyderabad, 25th March 2011: IndiaSkills, a vocational training initiative from Manipal Education, India’s leading training & education service provider and City & Guilds, one of the leading providers of work related assessment & qualifications in the world has launched “GMS Vocations & IndiaSkills” in association with Gowtham Model School (part of Gowtham Group) today.

This will facilitate skills training for 9,000 students from class 11 and 12 across the 10 GMS Junior Colleges in Hyderabad. IndiaSkills will commence by providing courses in Retail, Hospitality, Hair & Beauty and Computer-based Accounting and will soon expand the portfolio to include Facilities Management, Financial Services, Banking Operations and Supply Chain Management.

All IndiaSkills courses are designed to provide a combination of both classroom learning and practical skills required to perform a specific job role, thus maximizing their employability opportunity. The curriculum also ensures students are productive and efficient from day one. IndiaSkills has 3 vocational training centres in Hyderabad & Visakhapatnam that provide world class skills solutions to students and is also working in association with specific training projects of the Andhra Pradesh state government.

IndiaSkills & Gowtham Model Schools share a common vision of empowering the youth of the state with earning capability by providing professional skills training & employment. The joint venture in vocational training between IndiaSkills & GMS is a step towards addressing the growing issue of lack of professional skills among students in India that renders them unemployable even after a formal education. IndiaSkills will also be the exclusive vocational training partners for Gowtham Model Schools.

On a pan-India basis, IndiaSkills have more than 15,000 job mandates with over 20 leading companies like Reliance, Shoppers Stop, Madura Garments, Café Coffee Day etc to provide employment to their students who successfully complete their courses.
