Altuglas® PMMA gives a new look to PVC

03-25-2011 08:22 AM CET | Industry, Real Estate & Construction

Press release from: ALTUGLAS INTERNATIONAL

Altuglas International recently extended its range of acrylic resins with the launch of Altuglas® DRT Matt AS.

Altuglas® DRT Matt AS is a real innovation for PVC profiles market in applications such as roller-blinds, pool covers, decking boards and weatherboarding, gutters, garden greenhouses, windows, etc. It opens the way at last to a whole range of bright and dark colours that above all are long-lasting.

Tired-looking shutters and weatherboards are out: cherry reds, bottle greens, navy blues and the like are in! The choice of colours is unlimited. A co-extruded layer of transparent or coloured Altuglas® DRT Matt AS is used to protect the PVC substrate.

Altuglas® DRT Matt AS is a grade offering high impact resistance, with a matt surface finish that is soft to the touch and antistatic. It provides enhanced resistance to UV and scratching, thus ensuring long life. Another quality not to be neglected: the cost is lower than conventional laminated solutions, as the process is carried out in a single step.

An example of Success Story : the Océplast French company, which is specialized in the design and extrusion of custom PVC profiles for the joinery and other industries, has come up with a new range of coloured roller-blind slats by combining PVC with Altuglas® DRT Matt AS.
